My most recent hypothesis is that humans show increased levels of many biological indicators upon hearing something that is surprising, yet true. When your style of comedy is presented to members of my crew, I notice marked increases in the decibel levels in the room. The use of clapping to indicate approval of a performance never ceases to fascinate me.
Could you expound on your referring to “Eastern Vermont” as where you live? I have yet to find any references to this area in the Vulcan or Starfleet databases.
