Message: Just to make things clear.
Airplanes don’t accelerate just before landing.. They often increase engine power the last few seconds while flairing (the “lean back just before touchdown to make sure the plane sits down on the main landing gear first”-motion) but that is not meant to accelerate but to keep the airspeed constant so it doesn’t stall (stalling = losing the lifting force from the wings) because a stall at that point means it drops like a rock the last few feet, which is bad.
Imagine driving down a hill and then at the bottom you want to keep constant speed – you press the throttle slightly. Same thing.

I got a shitload of snow the past few days, almost 2 ft since wednesday morning… Shoveling sucks! But there IS a nice sense of accomplishment when the yard is all shoveled and pretty.
